Old Men and Fire
One night a group of old wildland firefighters were sitting around….telling stories…sharing beverages as they do; and thought wouldn’t it be a great idea to go on a road trip with a few pals to visit some old fires. They would walk the ground, discuss what happened, and honor those lost. And in the process perhaps inspire younger firefighters to learn about our rich and varied history.

The Selected Few and “The List” CIA/Smokejumpers

Starting in 1951 the CIA and Smokejumpers has a unique and little-know working arrangement the peaked in 1975. They were recruited “because they could go anywhere, anytime, and do a tough, confusing job and then keep our mouths shut. Smokejumpers have what it takes. They are not just fit and strong but have the ability to think independently and work towards a solution, no matter what the odds.”
