Gary Dunning (Fairbanks 1966)

Gary was born in Chico, CA, on April 30, 1940, to Ray and Nancy Dunning. He graduated from Chico High School in 1958.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and settled in Montana, where he was a member of the Lincoln County Search and Rescue in the town of Libby.
Gary was an avid rock climber, sport parachutist, and bodybuilder. He died at age of 58 on August 24, 1998, the result of a rock-climbing accident in Libby. He jumped at Fairbanks 1966-68, 87-93, at Cave Junction 1969-74, and at West Yellow 1975-86.
