National Smokejumper Association

On the 75th Anniversary of this tragedy, the National Smokejumper Association honored these young men by having association members visit each of the 13 individual gravesites across the United States. There was also a memorial event held in Helena, Montana to commemorate the event.

This presentation was given to the NSA board of directors at the Missoula meeting to honor the efforts of the NSA Mann Gulch Committee, the individual Site Coordinators, and volunteers whose powerful attempt to honor the Mann Gulch smokejumpers was equal to the expectations of the families of the victims. Throughout this effort, spearheaded by President Mike Bina, our goal was to make sure the Special Edition of Smokejumper Magazine and the Mann Gulch Tribute web pages reflected our gratitude to the families and the smokejumpers who came from all across the country to attend the memorials.
