Otho Black ( Missoula 1950 )

Otho, 87, of Smithfield, W. Va., died at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., August 16, 2016. He was born September 27, 1928, in Big Fork, Arkansas. He graduated from Southern State University in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Otho was a smokejumper out of Missoula, Montana, and was in the movie, "Red Skies of Montana" that aired in 1952. He jumped at Missoula during the 1950-51 seasons.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1954 in the motor pool.
Otho was employed for 28 years with Texas Eastern until his retirement as a measurement technician working from Rio Grande, Texas, over most of the pipeline into most of New Jersey and New York. He also was an accountant in the West Chester office of Texas Eastern.
