Gary, 58, slipped and fell while rock climbing near Libby, Montana on August 28,1998. His body was found four days later by a search and rescue unit. Gary was born April 30, 1940 in Chico, California. He Had jumped out of Fairbanks, Cave Junction and West Yellowstone and retired from the Forest Service in 1994.
