Horace M. Cordova ( Idaho City 1961 )

Horace, 80, died July 22, 2023, from complications with Parkinson's disease. While going to Western New Mexico University he started working for the USFS and rookied at Idaho City in 1961. He then moved to Alaska and worked at the Mount McKinley N.P. Horace earned a bachelor's in education and worked in school systems as a teacher and administrator. He first taught in Silver City, and then Fort Stanton as an administrator and diagnostician. Horace earned his Master's in education from Portales Eastern New Mexico University and moved to Capitan, New Mexico, where he taught in the Hondo Valley public school system. Horace moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, when he retired. He was well known for his art work and extensive career in art paintings, jewelry making and sculpture. Art was his passion. Horace jumped at Idaho City 1961-62, and 1965. He jumped at Fairbanks 1963 and 1966.
