Chester Broommell “Chip†Beaty ( McCall 1951 )

Chip, 74, died January 11, 2000, in Alberta, Canada. He was born May 10, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Fairhope, Alabama, and served as a Naval Officer in the South Pacific during WWII. He received his bachelor’s in 1948 and his master’s in 1950 from Louisiana State University. In 1960 he received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. In 1969, he moved to Alberta and joined the faculty of the University of Lethbridge in the Geography Department. For twenty years the Univ. Of Lethbridge was the headquarters for his productive scholarship. He retired as a Professor Emeritus. In retirement in 1990, he and his wife, Jeanne, moved to Montana.
Chip’s ashes were scattered at the Little Big Horn National Battlefield in Montana. He jumped at McCall 1951-53.
