Ernest Boyd Swenson ( Missoula 1948 )

Boyd, 64, died March 6, 1992, in Coos Bay, Oregon. He was born March 3, 1928, in Avon, Idaho. Boyd jumped at Missoula 1948-49 and graduated from Washington State University in 1950. He served in the Army in Korea 1950-52 and was a Sergeant in the field artillery. While working as chief forester for the Menasha Corp., he was instrumental in finding the location and construction of the causeway from Highway 101 to Jordon Point. Boyd was responsible for research and availability of Alder and other hardwoods that led to the construction of the paperboard mill by Menasha in 1960. He retired in 1975.
