Taylor F. Cottle ( Idaho City 1951 )

Taylor died October 6, 2003, from complications with Parkinson’s disease. He was born July 18, 1922, in Fish Haven, Idaho. Taylor grew up in Boise, graduated from Boise High school and attended Boise Jr. College prior to enlisting in the Navy in 1942.
Taylor was stationed in San Diego and Corpus Christi, Texas for radar training. He then went to the Solomon Islands to dismantle radar.
After the war, he worked for the USFS as a lookout during the 1945 season before attending the College of Idaho working on his pre-med requirements. In 1947 he transferred to Utah State where he earned his master’s degree in Physiology and entered medical school at the University of Utah. He jumped at Idaho City 1951-53 to help pay his medical school tuition. He made 22 fire jumps over these three seasons. Taylor graduated from medical school in 1955 and did an internship in Spokane, Washington.
Taylor practiced medicine as a General Practitioner in Pocatello, Idaho, Shelley, Idaho, and Boise where he retired in 1997. He was active in the Church of Latter-day Saints serving a mission in Bolivia.
