TV Show Looking For Smokejumpers

by Chuck Sheley |

Got the following via email today:

My name is Julie Athans and I'm a Casting Associate in Los Angeles.

The reason I'm contacting you is because I'm currently casting a new network reality competition show created by The Amazing Race host, Phil Keoghan, and we're looking for some extremely hardened, powerful competitors.

I'm hoping your or a smoke jumper you know might be interested in an opportunity to compete in this show. We would love to have some of your jumpers in our competition to represent and promote your association. Please find more information about the show below:

The working title right now is The Phil Keoghan Project. http://thephilkeoghanproject.com

The Phil Keoghan Project will feature gut busting, adrenaline inducing mental and physical challenges and we're looking for thrill-seeking men and women who want the challenge of a lifetime! People who have off-the-chart physical abilities and will do whatever it takes to win.

We are looking for people who are very strong or unusually fit with a mental edge to boot; people who think they could perhaps go toe to toe with a professional athlete; people who may have never played sports but are simply naturally fit from doing an extreme job; people who used to have an athletic career and want to show they still got it; or maybe it's just someone who has something to prove and refuses to ever give up.

Overall, we're seeking men and women who always see themselves as the last person standing and want to compete in the ultimate physical competition for a substantial reward.

At this stage it is planned to shoot the series in L.A., in the first quarter of 2014 over a period of 20-30 days.

So I was wondering if might be interested or if there was any way we might be able to get the word out to your smoke jumpers? I've attached a flyer in case you would like to take a look at it and/or pass it on.

Please let me know if you have ANY questions and I'll be happy to address them.

Can you please e-mail me back as soon as you get a chance and let me know your thoughts?

Thanks so much for your time and assistance, I look forward to hearing from you soon!
