Recent Smokejumper Retirements

Michael Jackson, who rookied in Redmond in 1986, retired a few short months ago. He had a great career and retired as a foreman.

Eric Brundige and Wayne Williams were out the door last Friday.

Eric rookied in McCall in 1977 and also jumped in Fairbanks for a few years before returning to McCall, retiring as a foreman.

Wayne (WW) also rookied in 1977, although at Missoula, and remained there for his long career, retiring as a foreman. He left jumping last Friday and started a new job with the State of Montana as head of their safety program. So much for retirement...
