Baker's Hole Fire Spreads to Yellowstone National Park

The Baker's Hole Fire, 3 miles from the West Yellowstone SmokeJumper Base was estimated at 250 acres Monday afternoon and growing. The fire is burning North and East and has run into an area that burned in 1988. Ten West Yellowstone Jumpers are on the fire.

In Yellowstone, the moisture levels in many of the large fuels, like dead and downed logs, are similar or lower than measurements taken before the fire seasons in 1988, 2000 and 2001.
