Terry died June 17, 2018, in Springfield, MO. He graduated from Arkansas State University in 1959 where he was on a football scholarship before joining the Army. He was a helicopter pilot and retired from the Army as a Lt. Col. Terry was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Helicopter Association and the NSA.

Following his retirement and honorable discharge from the United States Army, he worked as Director of Emergency Management for the Department of Civil Defense in Greene County, MO, for six years. Terry jumped at Missoula 1956-58.
