I am sad to report that I received a call this morning from Marlene Dutton saying that Dee died at 7:45 PM last night from a massive brain bleed. She said that he went out doing what he liked to do. He was fishing and had just caught an 18 pound fish when he collapsed and died. Dee trained at Missoula in 1951 and became Cave Junction Base Manager in 1966. He left CJ in 1975 to work in the Regional Office in Portland. Dee was a life member of the NSA and had planned on becoming more involved in the NSA next year. There is going to be a memorial service for Dee Thursday the 16th in Tigard at 2:00 PM at Christ the King Lutheran church, 11305 SWBull Mountain Road, that is right off Hwy 99 west in Tigard.Marlene's address is 12085 116th Ave SW, Tigard, OR 97223-3104.
