P2V Neptune Air Tanker Crash

A Neptune Aviation P2V airtanker, Tanker 42, crashed Saturday morning, yesterday, killing all 3 on board.

The tanker and crew were en route from Missoula, MT to Almagordo, NM, to help fight a 19,000 acre wildfire, when it failed to clear a mountain pass.

The three men who died are Tom Risk, 66, from Littleton, CO, pilot, Mike Flynn, 59, from Almagordo, NM, crew member, and Brian buss, 32, from Alberton, MT, crew member. The crash occurred just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.

It is a tragic loss to their families, Neptune Aviation, smokejumpers and firefighters across the U.S.
